Automotive supply-chain security issues and international trade regulations will be the focus of this year's 10th annual Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Customs Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the General Motors Heritage Center in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Sponsored by General Motors, the Journal of Commerce, Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services and TradeMerit Corporation, the full-day conference brings together government and industry leaders to share information on a wide range of customs and border-security related issues.
Speakers will include officials from the Canadian Border Service Agency (CBSA), U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Foreign Trade Division of the U.S. Census Bureau.
Updates on U.S. and Canadian border and security issues will be presented by Gregory McCann, assistant director of Trade Operations in the CBP's Detroit office, and Tamara Allard, chief of Windsor Commercial Operations for the CBSA. Annual trade between the U.S. and Canada through Windsor and Port Huron is estimated to total more than $ 200 billion.
Michael Robinet, vice president of CSM Worldwide, will give a luncheon presentation on "Thriving Within a Restructuring Automotive Industry." Other Customs Town Hall speakers will include:
